SEX YOU (I'm Gonna) is the newest immersive comedy experience by comedian Nathan Phillips. In workshops, Nathan Phillips has respectfully tried to make love to audience members in comedy clubs all over NYC. So far, he's had no luck. There’s been nudity, he’s been slapped and he even got a thank you note. Now SEX YOU (I’m Gonna) is performing at Just the Tonic at the Store in Edinburgh, Scotland as part of the Edinburgh Fringe Festival and the Edinburgh Comedy Festival. For more information go to edcomfest.com.
Now, working with director Timothy Haskell, Nathan is premiering an evening length version of this one of a kind comedy experience. It’s a highly structured night of improvisationalism, Like the early days of Chicago’s Too Much Light Makes The Baby Go Blind, Nathan pulls from a huge selection of comedy bits and conceptual interactions to seduce someone to have sex with him onstage. He’ll use his skills as a comedian, dancer, poet, singer and all around charming guy to create the ultimate interactive experience in the tradition of Andy Kaufman, Steve Martin and Gallagher. Every show is completely different and truly stars the audience. But this is not your average improv show, with shouted-out suggestions and silly props. It’s a real-life comedy experience where anything truly can happen. From jello shots served in Nathan’s bellybutton, to live sexting to watching a man cry, these are the thing we do to get laid, but never before like this.
